If you’re looking to make your hobby into a profitable, full-time business you may have come across the Debrosse Masterclass. It’s a course geared towards teaching you how to make sales and build a business specifically around knitting, crochet, and yarn. Maybe you’ve seen it on Pinterest or Instagram, and you’re interested, but not really sure if you want to buy it just yet. Well, I’ve taken the course and today I’m going to give you a full, in-depth review of the course to help you decide whether it’s right for you!

What is the Masterclass?
I’m obsessed with courses, but it’s really hard for me to hit the purchase button. I have a lot of courses from different sources saved that I think are interesting and I’ll get into, but for the most part, they kind of just hang out in a folder bookmarked for later. But the Debrosse Masterclass struck me as different. When I first came across it, I couldn’t get it out of my head because it had something the others didn’t. It’s centered entirely on knitwear.
Teresa is the mastermind behind this course and she’s filled it with 17 modules jam-packed with information you can actually use to grow your business. She guides you through everything from starting your shop, setting goals, branding, pricing, dealing with customers, photography, and expanding your brand in a way that makes sense and makes it easy. She basically takes your hand and walks you through each step. But the course does have a $350 price tag.
I know. I know. It’s a lot of money to spend on a course when you’re still trying to MAKE money with your business. But, let me tell you about my experience, and all the pros and cons before you make a decision.
The Pros
It’s one of a kind
Unlike courses that promise to get your sales up and teach you all the ins and outs of marketing on social media no matter what niche you’re in, Teresa created a course that focused specifically on how to do all that, but for my business. If you’ve looked for advice on crochet businesses, you know they’re hard to find. Teresa is a knitter and crocheter herself. She knows how much we spend on yarn and how hard it can be to try to market a beanie when there are so many others also selling beanies. She’s been there. She’s done it. And she’s helped so many other makers do it too.
You can start right away
I’ve seen so many courses that start by telling you that you NEED to follow a certain formula to get results. This isn’t like that. Instead, each lesson teaches you something and shows you how you can apply that to your business and your life. It gives you options and you can get working on them right away. Need help defining your goals? There’s a module that talks you through how to create goals that you will actually get done, and how to work around limitations to get there. Every single lesson has an action step that you can start thinking about and applying today.
She gives you everything
Not only are the lessons super helpful, but Teresa’s included some amazing resources in this Masterclass. There are pattern templates, listing image templates, a pricing calculator (which is a lifesaver!), market signs, those nifty little flags I add on my pattern images, and more! The course advertises showing you how to get crazy discounts on yarn, and that’s because Teresa gives you her contacts.
The Cons
The price tag
At $350, it’s a pretty expensive course.
I went back and forth about getting the course purely because I wasn’t sure if it would be worth that much money. When I finally pulled the trigger and bought it, I read through the course start to finish and even before implementing the lessons, I knew it was worth it. The course is a no-fluff, guided experience, and it’s made me back the money I spent on it.
But it only works if you take the things you learned and implement them. There’s no point if you aren’t willing to put in the work.

It’s all reading, no videos
For me, this is really a pro, but I know that some people prefer to take in information through someone speaking to you or visuals. This entire course is written, so if that’s not your style, it may be an adjustment. But Teresa’s there to guide you every step of the way and you can take the course at your own pace.
The yarn discount
I sell patterns almost exclusively. I didn’t have any need for the yarn discount section and it only works on a larger scale. So if you make a couple of finished items here and there like I do, you won’t find much use for it. But if your business is focused on selling finished pieces, it could be a HUGE help in cutting expenses.
Since I’ve started doing markets, I may have use for it next year. I’ll let you know how that goes.
My Results with the Masterclass
So how did the course help me grow? I’ve put together a couple of images to show you how this course and the lessons I used from it have affected my shop. I decided to hide the revenue I made because it’s more about seeing the growth and change than how much I personally made. And the amount you make will vary depending on your items and pricing so pay attention to the YoY, or the year over year stats.
All my Etsy stats are up, and I haven’t even hit the busy season yet! It’s just beginning and I can’t wait to see how these numbers change as the holiday orders come in.
And this is my income for 2018 in green compared to 2019 in blue. Like I said, even before we hit the busiest season in the last 3 months of the year, you can see that my 2019 stats are doubling my 2018 ones from February through August. That’s usually my SLOW season, but it was great!
And finally, my favorite transformation from this course was in how my brand LOOKS. Teresa’s method of editing pictures was a game-changer. It helped me define my brand’s appearance and create a cohesive feel to it. I also felt a new pride in my business; I was always proud of it but now I could see it coming together with the way I had imagined. Here’s a look at my Instagram early on.
And here is my feed now! Especially because I like to play around and make all the things, having a cohesive look and matching backgrounds really made a difference without stopping me from sharing what I wanted.
Conclusion
So, if you’re looking into the Masterclass and not sure about it, here’s the bottom line.
The Masterclass is an investment. It’s worth the money if you’re serious about taking your business to the next level. It’s worth it if you’re willing to put in the work and treat it like a business. If you’re struggling with finding the right resources to grow an Etsy shop and make money crocheting, this course will tell you how to do it.
I’m a huge fan of Teresa and her Masterclass and I would not be sitting here writing this 1400 words about if I didn’t think it was worth it. Save up for it, ask for it for Christmas or your birthday, mention it next time someone asks if they can help you with your business. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
And if you’re STILL unsure, check out some of her templates and maker tools for a glimpse of what the Masterclass includes. Almost all of these resources are included in the Masterclass! The pattern templates and pricing guide are probably my favorite items and it’ll only cost you a few bucks.
That’s all for today! Thank you so much for reading.

Thank you for this revew!! I'm in Brasil and thinking about taking Teresa's Masterclass to improve my business too. For me, the yarn discounts won't be useful at all, but still, I think It's a good investiment to make.

Hi Lisa!
Sorry about the late response, but I love this course and I refer back to it all the time! I don't use the yarn discounts at the moment either since I usually design one off patterns, not bulk inventory but it's still useful information :)
