Want to decorate your home with something fun and crocheted? This wall hanging is the perfect thing to add a little crocheted home decor to your space and it’s super easy to make. I adore the bright colors and the message on this particular crochet wall hanging. It was made by Nihal Salem of Topknotch Crochet, who is a wonderful designer and the first guest contributor here on The Blue Elephants! I’ll hand it over to her now!

Meet Nihal!
Hi, everyone! I’m so excited to be here sharing a pattern with you. Thank You Shehla for having me here!!
I’m Nihal Salem from Topknotch Crochet. I have been crocheting for almost 14 years and I have always loved to make things with my hands. My addiction to progress is what makes me love to crochet this much. I love to see the transformation of a ball of yarn to a piece of crochet cloth to finally an adorable dress, a scarf, or many other possible creations. One of my goals is to inspire others to create things with their hands to experience the satisfying sense of accomplishment when they finish a crochet piece. That’s why I started my blog.
I share free crochet patterns for baby and adult garments and accessories as well as home decor. But lately I have been focusing on home decor because I am making a whole room makeover using crochet! And some other DIYs!! I already shared some patterns from my room makeover series on my blog and this wall hanging is a part of this series too!

Now before we write “little things”
Put a stitch marker in the middle of your wall hanging to mark the space between your two words and count 6 rows from the bottom and put a stitch marker. Now count 10 rows from the marked row then add another one. This will mark the height of your letters!
Now you will have to plan the places of your letters. For me I freehanded it. However, you can mark it lightly with a pencil before you slip stitch your letters on the surface.
Finishing Touches
- Work one last row of slip stitches around the 4 edges of the wall hanging
- Attach your wall hanging to the wooden dowel as you see in this video
- Cut 51 strands of white yarn that are 21.5”(55 cm)
- And attach it to the bottom edge as you see in this video (one strand in each stitch)
- The last step which is optional is to make some Decorative Tassels and attach it to the bottom edge!
